I had a fantastic stay at the Cormorant hotel, where the location was perfect for exploring La Jolla and the service was exceptional. The recently renovated room was cozy with some nice extras, though it was a bit on the smaller side. Dining at the rooftop restaurant offered breathtaking views, although I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Overall, it feels like great value for a boutique experience amidst the beauty of the coastal area.

My stay at the hotel was disappointing due to pest issues in my room, which overshadowed some of its positive aspects. I did appreciate the central location near La Jolla and the responsiveness of the staff when problems arose. Unfortunately, I can't overlook the roach sightings and the overall maintenance issues, which affected my comfort significantly.

I had an amazing stay at Cormorant in La Jolla! The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by charming restaurants and shops. The staff were exceptional with their warm, friendly greetings that really enhanced my experience. I did enjoy the rooftop restaurant, but the crowd noise from the lively area could be a bit distracting at times. Overall, I felt the value for money was excellent given the attentive service and prime location.

6.8/10

The hotel is situated in a prime location, offering easy access to restaurants and stunning beach views, which I really appreciated. While my room was comfortable, it had issues like the lack of a locking slider and noise from nearby establishments. Additionally, finding parking was a hassle, which I didn't expect for the price. Overall, it's a charming place but comes with a few caveats that future travelers should keep in mind.

Rooms
6.0
The room was decent but lacked a locking slider, which was concerning. Noise from nearby restaurants also made it hard to sleep early.
Service
7.0
The staff were generally nice, though I felt they could have been more attentive to our concerns.
Location
9.0
The location is unbeatable, with lots of great places to eat right outside and the beach just a short walk away.
Dining
7.0
Though I didn't dine extensively, the rooftop bar has a great vibe, but be prepared for noise that can intrude on your experience nearby.
Facilities
5.0
The absence of parking directly at the hotel is a downside, and navigating to the off-site garage was complicated.

I had a lovely one-night stay at the Cormorant. The newly renovated hotel is well done, with a great location close to La Jolla Cove and lots of restaurants. While the queen room was a bit snug, it was comfortable and came with some nice extras. The rooftop restaurant was a highlight, offering amazing views and delicious cocktails. However, my experience was dampened by some noise issues and an unfortunate incident with the room's cleanliness.

Rooms
6.0
The queen room was quite small and felt a bit cramped at times, especially since the lighting was a bit dim and the room was located underground, making it feel rather closed off. While it was clean, I did find a used sock on the floor and half a jar of Vaseline left behind, which was disappointing.
Service
7.0
The service was friendly, and the reception staff tried to help with my requests, but the manager was dismissive about potential upgrades, which was frustrating.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was fantastic, just a short walk to La Jolla Cove and surrounded by various dining and shopping options, which really enhanced our overall experience.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail at the rooftop restaurant, Bird's Eye, where the views were breathtaking and the menu looked appealing.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had a nice rooftop bar, and the amenities like the Nespresso machine in the room were very pleasant touches. However, the noise from the restaurant traffic affected the experience.
